Aiden Gerard Sullivan Obituary

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and brother, Aiden (Gerard) Sullivan, at the age of 75 on May 3, 2022.

Gerard is predeceased by his stillborn son, Scott, his parents Aiden & Maude (Sesk) Sullivan, Aiden & Philomena (Ryan) Keough, sisters in law Dorothy Hynes & Anne Marie Condon and brother in law Terry Condon.

Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 51 years, Sheila and his children Jackie (Glen), Barry (Tomi) and Brian (Barb); his darling grandchildren who he adored, Jack, Grace & Aiden. Brother Raymond (Trixie), sisters in law Michelle Sullivan (Jimmy), Carol Sullivan (Craig), brothers in law Kevin Keough (Lois) and Loyola Hynes; special aunt and friend Joan Costello, special nephew Paul Condon, as well as many nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.

We are very grateful for the incredible care and kindness that Gerard received over the years from Dr. Rod McCarthy, who always went above and beyond. To Dr. Yong Wah Lee and the nursing staff at the St. Clare’s Emergency Department, your compassion and empathy during Gerard’s short stay will never be forgotten. Also to our family and friends for your outpouring of support, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Hockey was Gerard’s greatest passion and over the years, he made an enormous contribution to minor and senior hockey on the Southern Shore from a coaching and an executive standpoint.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 17th from 2 - 9 pm at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Wednesday, May 18th at 11am from Immaculate Conception RC Church, Calvert.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gerard’s memory to the Southern Shore minor or senior hockey organizations or to a charity of one’s choice.

Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.”
