It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our brother, Allan Carew, who left us peacefully on September 11, 2024, at the age of 83.
Allan was predeceased by his father Louis, mother Kathleen, sister Gladys and brothers; Alfred and Norman.
He leaves to mourn his siblings: Arthur, Donald, Edward, Randolph, Carl, Louie, Terrance, Aloysuis, Kenneth, Doris, Christopher, Catherine, Maurice, Jacqueline and Gloria. As well as many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, in-laws, cousins & friends.
Allan found joy in the quiet beauty of the outdoors, whether hiking through the woods, gardening, planting trees or simply enjoying the stillness of the night under the stars. He was most at home in nature.
In his early years, he was a Federal Fisheries warden, toiling the waters from Cape Broyle to Biscay Bay and a provincial Forest Ranger in Cape Broyle & up the country. He also worked on a ranch in Cody, Wyoming and scaled trees in Squamish, B.C.
Allan was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His presence will be sorrily missed but his spirit will live on in the rustle of leaves, the song of birds and the whisper of the wind. The memories we shared will forever be part of our lives.
A very special thank you to Eastern Health, Dr. Wee and the staff at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for the care they provided during his stay.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Friday, October 18th from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Cape Broyle on Saturday, October 19th, 2024 at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cape Broyle. Everyone is invited to the Cape Broyle Community Hall for a reception and a time of fellowship at 6:00 pm.
“Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
