It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, daughter and sister, Angelene Catherine Sullivan who passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center in the presence of her closest loved ones on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the young age of 43.
Predeceased by her father, Ernest Sullivan, grandparents Vincent and Kitty Sullivan, George and Angela Gregory, uncles Gerald Sullivan, Martin and Eric Gregory, cousins Wade Duggan, Pete and Howie Jones and mother-in-law, Sarah White.
Leaving to mourn are her devoted husband and soul mate Brian Hawkins, fur-friend Bossy (aka “my handsome man”); her mother Dolores (Lloyd); her brother Jeff (Pam), nephews Jack and Tyler, whom she loved so much; sisters-in-law Betty (Rene), Linda (Jason); brother-in-law Wayne (Carla). Also left to mourn are a large circle of extended family and friends.
Angelene was a beautiful, strong and determined person. She enjoyed traveling, camping, shopping for deals, and had a passion for trouting, something her and Brian shared. She especially enjoyed weekend trips up the country trying to catch the big one. She had a special kindness and a unique sense of humour that made everyone smile. Despite the adversity she faced, Angelene exemplified unwavering courage in her battle against lung disease. She received a double lung transplant that provided her with a new lease on life. With her new lungs, she had a renewed sense of hope and was grateful for the second chance she had been given and made the most of it. She remained resilient and courageous, serving as a reminder to cherish every breath and to fight for each tomorrow.
May her soul find eternal rest, and her spirit continue to shine brightly in our hearts. She is now at peace back in her father’s arms. She will forever be missed and remembered by all those who loved her.
Our family would like to acknowledge the incredible compassion, care and love that was shown to Angelene by the amazing team of doctors, nurses and staff at Health Science Center ICU and emergency. Special thanks to Dr. Costello and Dr. Vidyasanker Gokul. Your care and compassion to Angelene and our family will always be appreciated.
