Angus Croft Obituary
It is with broken hearts and treasured memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Angus Croft at the Health Sciences Centre, surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his father, Harold. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are his wife, of 34 years, Josephine, his children; Trevor, Lisa (Morgan), Joe (Kelly) and treasured niece, Bridie (Scott). He is also survived by his mother, Madonna, brothers; Jerome (Liz), Jimmy, Randy (Michelle), Wayne (Tammy), and sisters; Edith Organ (Fintan) and Barbara Croft (Mohamed). Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and his special cat, Benny, who he loved dearly.
Angus was born in Aquaforte in February of 1955. He began fishing at the young age of nine and continued until he developed a keen interest in carpentry work. He was well-known for being capable of picking up new skills just by seeing them done once. He spent the past 40 plus years building homes and renovating houses. He was also capable of doing plumbing, electrical, concrete work, mechanic work, or any other job that he was asked to do, all of which were self taught skills. He would never turn down a request and was honest to a fault. He was known for his blunt personality; whatever he wanted to say he would say it no matter the consequence.
We would like to thank the Witless Bay Volunteer Fire Department, as well as the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Emergency Department who took care of Angus like he was their own and kept him comfortable in his final days.
Angus will be resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, Witless Bay on Friday, March 1st at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Aquaforte.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
