It is with broken hearts and fond memories we announce the passing of our dear mother, mother-in-law, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Ann Coady died peacefully surrounded by her loving children on December 12, 2021 at the age of 75. She is predeceased by the love of her life, James Coady Jr., twin sons (Rodney and Rene), parents (Bridget and Francis Madore), parents-in-law (James and Josephine Coady) and her siblings (Olive, Alfred and George), as well as many members of the Madore and Coady families.
Ann is survived by her devoted children; Juanita (Mick), Deanie (Dion), Jamie (Lorna) and Janice (Neil). Her cherished grandchildren; Coady, Kieran, Kylee, Kamryn, Maddox, and Kenedi. Other special grandchildren (Scott, Faith, Chelsea and Elijah). Her siblings; Estelle (Edward dec.), Walter (Jean), Jerome (Marg), Margaret, Bernadette (Steve), Mary (Norm), Cecelia (Con dec.) and Irene (Don). Her in-laws; Anne (Bob), Steve (Irene), Agnes (John dec.), Phyllis (Charlie), Catherine (Vince), Doris (Eric), Betty and her loving nieces, nephews and many loyal friends.
Ann was always so proud of her children and grandchildren for their sports and other accomplishments. She had many friends on the Southern Shore, Corner Brook, Labrador City and everywhere in between. Junior and Ann started their family in Labrador City before moving home to Cape Broyle to return to the fishery and establish their business The San Juan Lounge, where many friendships, fun times and memories were made. She also loved her annual visits to her cabin in Blow Me Down to be with her family.
Ann had many great friends and neighbours on the South Side who provided help and support over the years. Special thanks to Susie, Debbie, Renee and the Amazing Staff at Alderwood Estates in Witless Bay who gave Ann a new purpose, friendship and quality care. At Alderwood, she thrived and thoroughly enjoyed all the events, outings and her new friendships. She was known as a great spokesperson, organizer and communicator. During COVID-19 lockdowns, she helped keep the residents informed and in touch with their families.
Thank you to Dr. Melissa Angel for her exceptional care. We also wish to thank Dr. Mabel Greene, her daughter-in-Law Lorna for all her medical help, The Community Health nurses especially Audrey and Nicole and the staff of 4 West, St. Clare’s for her care during her final days.
