Catherine McCarthy Obituary
Passed peacefully away on April 5, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home with her loving family by her side, Catherine (Hyde) McCarthy at the age 84. A precious soul has left this earth and into the welcoming arms of her family who departed before her. Predeceased by precious husband Jim McCarthy, parents, Margaret & Thomas Hyde: siblings, Patrick, John, Edward, Philomena, Margaret and Bridget.
Left to mourn, children, Peggy (Colin), Tom, Philomena (Leo), Elizabeth, Jim (Isabelle) & Kimberley (Burton) Chafe. Also left to mourn, her loving partner of 40 years, Gerald Burton; 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren.
Her nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends are also fondly remembering her. One of mom’s most joyful places to be was their cabin on Hodgewater Line. She dearly loved a game of cards, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
Our heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, especially those of 3rd Floor, East/West who looked after mom and treated her with love and compassion for the last 5 years.
Visitation will be held at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 2:00 – 9:00 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 from Saints Peter & Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls at 10:00 am. Expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the St. Patrick’s Mercy Home Foundation or the charity of ones choice. Inurnment will take place at a later date when all family members can be together.
Rest in peace our precious angel until we meet again in heaven’s beautiful garden of rest.
