Danny Hayes Obituary
It is with immense sadness and broken hearts that we announce the loss of a dear husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Danny Hayes of Brigus South, passed away suddenly on October 19, 2023, at the age of 52. Predeceased by his parents Francis and Nellie Hayes.
Leaving to mourn and celebrate his life, his best friend and loving wife Kathy Hayes, his pride and joy, his children Taylor (Michael), Georgia, Francis; his furry companions Pansy and Clover, his beloved siblings Arlene, Jocelyn (Walter), Anne Marie, Bernadette (Dan), Gerard (Wendi), Valerie (Hank), Gwen (Chris), Blair (Danielle); parents in law Sandy and Carol McLean; sisters in law Justine (Brian), Heidi (Dale); nephews Karl (Stephanie), Shawn (Jessica), Justin, Barry (Brianna), Dylan, James; nieces Brandi (Cordell), Brittany (Karl), Breanna, Jada (Nick), Colby (Walter+ Evelyn), Morgan and special great niece Nellie. Also mourning his loss are a large circle of cousins, past and present crew members of the Georgia A, extended family, dear friends and the community of Brigus South who will all dearly miss Danny.
Danny was an exceptional person, a friend to so many, who loved a good chat and a good meal. He was known for his work ethic, sense of humor and his occasional, endearing stubbornness. Danny lived life to the fullest with a fierce sense of love, compassion and dedication. His family was his world, and this was evident in everything he did; he took every opportunity to boast about his children, was a devoted life partner and made his siblings laugh whenever possible. A fisherman by trade, he loved what he did. Brigus South was his sanctuary and the wharf was his happy place.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Monday, October 23rd from 2-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Church, Cape Broyle on Tuesday, October 24th at 11am. Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
