It is with broken hearts and the deepest sorrow we announced the passing of our Mudder, Grandmother and sister, Darlene Jane Williams. Darlene passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at St. Clare’s Mercy hospital, St. John’s.
Leaving to mourn are her son Kurt, grandchildren; Kala and Markus, as well as a large family and circle of friends.
Darlene was born to William Richard Williams – (Bill Lou) and Lorraine Lillian Williams (nee Rice) of Bay Bulls. She was raised in Bread and Cheese with her six sisters: Beverley, Glenys, Norma, Brenda (deceased), Sheryl (deceased) and Thora, her seven brothers: John, Billy, David, Robert, Armand, Aubrey and Scott.
We would like to thank the ladies at Cradea Manor for their kindness, loving support and care as Darlene fought her battle with dementia. We would also like to thank the staff of St. Clare’s, 7 West, for making Darlene comfortable during the last days of her struggle. A big thank you to those who dropped off cards, food, gifts and made time to visit Darlene during her struggle.
A special thank you to her sister-in-law Sharon for always making time to maintaining her hair.
Darlene was a kind, gentle and loving soul. She enjoyed the simple things in life like a game of cards, bingo, darts, a bit of shopping, a trip to the rag shop and a feed of Mary Brown’s with a Pepsi.
Darlene always made time to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. She always loved a good laugh and a bit of fun with her friends and family.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home Bay Bulls. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm with cremation to follow. There will be no formal funeral service at this time.
