It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dermot "Derm" Power at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on July 23, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinsons and lung cancer.
Predeceased by his mother and father, Elizabeth and Leo Power, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Bridget Carew, his loving wife, Carmel (nee Carew), sisters, Bertha Halfyard and Gertrude Norris and brothers, Joseph Power and Gerard Power.
Leaving to mourn are his son, Randy (Joy), daughter, Tanya (Barry), and granddaughters, Alyssa and Julianna. His sisters, Agnes Melvin (Phonse, deceased) and Irene Coady (Steve). Also leaving to mourn many nieces and nephews, especially a very special niece, Sherry (Johnny) - who had been a great advocate for him during his times of need.
A special thank you to Derms' caregivers, Lorraine and Nikiata and close friend and neighbour, Jason O'Driscoll and his family.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service to celebrate Derm's Life will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tors Cove on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
