Dion Hawkins Obituary
Passed peacefully away, surrounded by his loving family on August 5, 2023 at the Health Sciences Centre after a hard-fought battle with leukemia, Dion Philip Hawkins of Brigus South, age 52.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife Audrey (nee Kenny); his precious children who were his world, Katie and Kaleb; his devoted parents Philip and Josephine (nee Finlay); Mother-in-law Shirley (Allan Croft, dec.); Father-in-law Cecil Kenny (Lucy); loving sister Tracy, Brother-in-law Victor Smith, and niece Brooklyn; Sister-in-law Marsha Kenny (Garner King) and nieces Emily and Robyn; Brother-in-law Jesse Croft; special aunts Lavena Daley (Pete, dec.), Mamie Sullivan (David), Irene Finlay (Ron), and Genevieve Williams (Ron); beloved companions Storm and Brewster; as well as many other relatives, friends and offshore buddies who all supported Dion and his family during his illness.
Predeceased by his grandparents Joe and Mary Margaret Hawkins and John and Antoinette Finlay, and members of the Hawkins and Finlay families.
Dion was a hardworking, fun-loving man who loved hockey (Go Habs!), loved life, but above all loved his family beyond measure. He leaves us all with broken hearts but with so many wonderful memories. May he forever rest in peace.
Special thanks to the nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre ATP, 4 North A and ICU for the exceptional care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Wednesday August 9, 2023 from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place 11 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church in Cape Broyle. Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape RC Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
