Elizabeth Johanna Williams (nee Lawlor), originally from Renews, passed peacefully away at home in Bay Bulls with her family on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Ellen (Nellie) Lawlor, parents-in-law Angus and Mary Williams, sister-in-law Lorraine Williams, special cousin William “Bill” Ryan and lifelong friend Helen Lawlor.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories, her devoted husband of 52 years, Derrick, children: Jason (Wanda Lee Mercer), Renee (Philip Coffin) and Danielle (Dean Glazebrook): grandchildren Noah & Anna Coffin and Charlie & Owen Glazebrook, sister Margaret Lawlor (Charlie Earle), sisters and brothers-in-law Alicia & Ed Blacker, Jeanette & Ray Peters, Sandra & Duncan Costello, Eleanor & Harold Ronayne, Ursula & Craig Maloney, Jerry & Ann Williams and Don & Debbie Williams, as well as a large number of nieces, nephews and lifelong friends and family from Renews (especially the many members of the Lawlor families) and Bay Bulls (especially Georgina Harvey, Doris Crane, and Vivian MacDonald).
The family would like to extend a tremendous thank you to those who provided care and support for Elizabeth in the last few years - Madonna Byrne, Edwina Walsh and Sandy Walsh-O’Brien. Special thank you to her family physician, Dr. Annette McCarthy and the health care professionals in the Provincial Home Dementia Program.
The family invites you to visit and celebrate her life at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Thursday, July 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am with cremation and inurnment to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to The Gathering Place in St. John’s or a charity of your choice.
