Eric Maloney

It is with great sadness that the family of Eric Maloney, age 78, announce his passing on January 4, surrounded by family, following a brief but serious illness.

Eric was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sheila, daughter, Erin and baby grandson Hudson.

He is lovingly remembered by his partner, Maureen; his three sons: Eric Jr. (LynnAnn), Francis and Christopher, cherished grandchildren: Alyssa, Evan, Blake and Georgia-Shea. He is also survived by his brothers; Lloyd (Donna Best) and Don, sisters, Rosalind (John Connors) and Virginia (Douglas Chafe), as well as extended family and many friends.

Eric showed his love quietly, through his steady presence, his gentle humour, and his deep devotion to family. He valued simple moments and meaningful connections, and those who knew him understood that his care was sincere and unwavering. Though his passing came sooner than expected, the impact of his life lives on through his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the medical staff for their compassionate care.

At Eric’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8 from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Bay Bulls on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 11:00 am.
