It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest Williams Sr. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital at the age of 73.
Predeceased by his loving parents Henry and Joan Williams, sister Catherine Bidgood (Bill), brothers Kenneth, Alex, Randel, Edward, Gordon (Georgina), John (in infancy), niece Alexandra Williams, nephew John Joyce Jr., and parents-in-law Luke and Mary Joyce.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts but wonderful memories, his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Bernice, his children, Kelly (Richard), Ernie (Charlene). His precious grandchildren who he adored, Brady, Ryan (Kaitlyn) and Joshua. Brothers Harry (Bern), Fred (Rita), Wayne (Sheila), sister Joan (Edgar Dalley), sister-in-laws, Diane, Bertha, Bonnie, and Betty, brothers and sisters-in-law of the Joyce family, Patsy (Mike Turner), John (Kay), Mikey (Debbie), Junior (Donna), Eddie (Linda), Dennis, Patrick (Eileen), Colleen (Barry Dunne) and Kevin. Also leaving to mourn many nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by special friends Allan O'Driscoll, Irvin Crane, Terry Crane, Mike O'Brien, Darrell O'Driscoll, Mikey Glynn, Dave Walsh, and Brian Mulcahy. Also leaving to mourn his best furry friend Mickey.
A sincere thank you to Dr. Wade Mercer, Dr. Ken Burrage, and the nurses on 4 East at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. A special thank you to the Public Health Nurses, Audrey Dalton, and Nicole Sharpe, as well a heartfelt thank you to our daughter-in-law Charlene for her help over these last few months.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Friday, September 17 from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls. inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Mt. Loretta RC Cemetery, Bay Bulls. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the funeral mass attendance will be by invite only.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernest's memory can be made to the SPCA.
