Gerry O'Leary age 57, of Calvert, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2015 at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre.
Predeceased by his parents: Alfred and Mary Agnes O''Leary; sisters: Francis, Mary and Pauline; brother Wayne; father-in-law Aiden Swain; sister in-law Mary O''Leary; and brothers-in-law: Gary Hayden and Pete Jones.
He leaves to mourn: his loving wife Gloria; beloved children: Renee Sullivan, Allison (Gerry), Joshua (Jennifer), Jessica (Daniel); his adoring grandchildren, Sarah Jane, Mya, James and Rylan; and his mother Bell James.
Gerry will be dearly missed by his brother Joe O''Leary (late Mary); sisters: Kay Dunne, Anne Hayward (Frank), Helen Nelson (Jessie), Cathy James; and brothers: Eddie James (Bev), Basil James (Marie) and Barry James.
He will also be sadly missed by the Swain family, including: his mother-in-law Madonna Swain; brothers-in-law: Aiden (Wanda), Vince (Margie), Glenn, John (Rhonda), Danny (Lynn), Barry (Heather), Colin (Kim); and sisters in law: Monica (Gary), Evie (Eugene), Miriam (Bobby), Barbara (Dave), Colleen (late Pete) and Shirley.
Gerry had a large circle of extended family and friends who will all miss his kindness, charm and sense of humour. He will never be forgotten.
Special thanks to Dr. Sohaib Al-Asaaed, Dr. Brent Tompkins and the staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer for their wonderful care and support for Gerry over the last number of years. The family would also like to thank the caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre for their kindness and support over the past few days.
Resting at Ryan''s Funeral Home in Bay Bulls, visitation will take place on Thursday, April 23 (2-9 pm) and Friday, April 24 (2-9 pm). Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Calvert on Saturday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape RC Cemetery in Cape Broyle.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre in Gerry''s memory.
