Gertrude Glynn) Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the death of Gertrude Coady of Goulds.
Trudy was born to Nicholas and Mary (Minnie) Glynn of Bay Bulls on June 26,1953 where she was raised with her 7 brothers. She leaves behind 5 brothers and their families, Tom (Cecelia), Francis, Eugene, Joe (Greta) and Glen, and sister-in-law AnneMarie Glynn. She is predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers Nick and John as well as 2 infant sisters AnnMarie and Irene.
Mom always loved having family around especially her children Dennis, AnnMarie (Gary), and Renee (Chris) as well as her grandchildren, who she said that she should have had first, Ryley (Linda Rose), Jade, Carson, and Landon. We are broken hearted but will forever feel the love and strength that we received; it will be what carries us through.
She also leaves behind her partner and best friend Albert O’Reilly, who she spent the last and best years of her life with. They loved dancing, travelling, going out to supper and for drives, as well as sitting at home watching TV with Ginger their cat. Mom thought the world of Albert’s two children Tracey and Terry, as they did of her.
Trudy also leaves to mourn many family and friends as well as honorary grandchildren to Nanny Trudy. We thank Dr Sohaib Al-Asaaed, the Palliative Care team especially her nurse Claudette and Dr. McManamon, Pat from Goulds Pharmachoice as well as mom’s homecare worker Carol. Your care and support will never be forgotten. A very special thank you to everyone who reached out to us over the past weeks especially Pam. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
Mom spent her life caring for others, it was our honor to care for her in her final months. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on August 9, 2022 after a 6 year battle with kidney cancer. She continued to work until the end of June taking as little time off as possible in between surgeries and treatments with never a complaint. We hope that we can continue with your strength and grace mom, we have a lot to live up to.
Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home in Bay Bulls on Friday August 12 from 2:00-9:00pm. Funeral mass will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church Bay Bulls on Saturday August 13 at 10:00am. Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Loretta RC Cemetery, Bay Bulls.
There are special people in our lives that never leave us even after they are gone.
