It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our remarkable mother Gertrude White age 83, who passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Michael, daughter Catherine, sons Michael and Gerard, parents Peter and Mary Vickers, daughter in-law Cindy, and all members of the Vickers and White families. Leaving to mourn daughters Sharon (John), Bernadette (Steve), sons Ken (Marie), Darrin (Cindy), and David (Kim). Her grandchildren Jeanine (Maurice), Sheena (Donald), Meghan (Kevin), Peter Michael (Lauryn), Keegan (Courtney), and Jonathan. Great Grand children Victoria, Kate, Liam, and Cody. Her loving sister Clara Howlett, son in-law Peter Norris, sister in laws Mame Vickers, Rose Vickers, Gertie Vickers, Mary Frizzel, Carmel Crane, Barbara Chafe, Catherine Hayward, Marcella O''Driscoll (Mike). Brother''s in-law George White, John White (Emma), and Gordon Guest as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her home care givers Ella Tobin, Genny Sharpe, Tracey Grenning, and Sandy Mitchell for all their love and care. In addition, thanks to Mom''s niece Margie for her love and support these past few weeks. Special thanks to Dr. Rod McCarthy for all the home visits and brightening Moms day by making her smile. Also thanks to the staff of St. Clare''s Mercy Hospital for the care and support. Resting at Ryan''s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Saturday February 11th from 3-9 pm, and Sunday February 12th from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Patrick''s R.C. Church Witless Bay on Monday February 13th at 10:00 am, Interment to follow at Holy Cross R.C. Cemetery, Witless Bay. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations to a charity of one''s choice. "Mom, you taught us a lot in life, except how to live without you. We love you with all our hearts and will forever miss you!"
