Leaving with kind memories, dearly treasured nieces, Mary, Irene and Donna. Mom was a favored aunt to many nieces and nephews and was thought fondly of by brothers in law, Matt, David, Fred, Gerard, Mike and Gary. Mom had a few dear friends over the years, each leaving a mark at different times of her life, especially in recent years the new friends she made at Alderwood, loving the times you shared and many adventures that meant the world to her.
Mom didn’t have a typical family tree, having been adopted, fostered and eventually meeting and establishing a loving and great relationship with her birth mom. She grew up in Sacramento, New Hampshire, St. John’s and Witless Bay, considering many to be siblings and family that she was fortunate to share her journey in life with. Always appreciated and never forgotten: adopted and foster siblings Jerome Serem, Eugene Mathews, Cynthia Power and Mike Maloney (Lake).
After losing Dad at such a young age, Mom was the absolute center of our world, fulfilling both roles and making sure we had as much love and care she could provide. We will carry on without you, live our lives as happily and lovingly as you taught us to, no matter the hardships. It has always been the tenet of your life and we are so very grateful of the choices you made along the way. Mom was a caring and thoughtful mother and grandmother, always putting our needs ahead of her own. Mom loved her garden, spending time in the kitchen, baking and cooking the delicious food that she was known for. Mom and Dad both loved music, it filled just about every corner of our childhood, including quick unexpected spins across the floor when a favorite tune played. Mom continued her love of music, as I’m sure many have enjoyed her posted renditions of the “Mobile Goat” in recent years, on Alderwood Estates Facebook page.
Parkinson’s had certainly added to the challenges mom had to face over the years and we are very thankful for the many people that made up the medical and homecare team looking after her these past few years. We are especially grateful for Drs Rod McCarthy, Melissa Angel, staff of Bay Bulls Medical Practice and Dr. Alan Goodridge. Also, the home care provided by Margie, Madonna, Amy and the Quality Homecare team, all the wonderful people at Alderwood Estates and the exceptional care she has received at HSC, 5 North A from the PSA’s, nurses, doctors and staff since being admitted in August.

Please wear a mask at the request of the family.Miss Me..But Let Me Go When I come to the end of the road,And the sun has set for me,I want no rites in a gloom filled room,Why cry for a soul set freeMiss me a little but not for too long,And not with your head bowed low,Remember love that we once shared,Miss me, but let me go.For this is a journey that we all must take,And each must go alone,It’s all a part of the master’s plan,A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart,Go to the friends we know,And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds,Miss me, but let me go.
