It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father who passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his family at the age of 56.
Left behind with fond loving memories is his wife of 32 years, Wanda Carey. His two daughters (“Dollys”); Ashley Carey (Michael Tobin) and Stephanie Clarke (Brandon Clarke); Brother Raymond Carey (Lolletta Carey); Sisters Shirley Boone (Weldon Boone) and Mary Murphy (Tom Murphy); honorary sister by heart Anita Boland (Sheldon Boland) and all his special nieces and nephews and other members of the Carey/Williams and Rowe/Wisman Families.
Predeceased by his parents Millie and John (Johnny) Carey; Grandparents John and Mary Carey, Raymond and Molly Williams; Godfather Patrick Cahill and his parents-in-law Ernest and Meta Rowe.
Jamie spent many years as a cook before he started his 30-year career working in carpentry where he worked hard doing what he loved to do. If he wasn’t working, he was either into the cabin moose hunting or trouting with his buddies or family. He was surrounded by a wonderful group of friends including all his poker buddies and very special close friends.
Jamie will be missed and best remembered for his great humor and being the most amazing, caring and loving husband and father that he was. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and making sure they were provided for each and everyday. He loved to have card night and “womp” everyone as he would say. Jamie loved nothing more than to have a good laugh and torment everyone he knew.
Our family would like to thank the Cancer Clinic Doctor and Nurses, Community Health Care Nurses of Bay Bulls and his family Dr. Rodney McCarthy for the wonderful care they provided. If you would like to donate, please do so to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life at the Puffin Centre (South Side Track Road) in Witless Bay on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. for all his family and friends to share memories and stories with one another in his memory.
“I’ll be talking to ya or talking about ya..one or the other.” <3
