James "Jimmy" Harrigan Jr. Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James “Jimmy” Harrigan Jr., whose earthly journey came to an end on May 21, 2026 at the age of 56 years.

Jimmy was predeceased by his father, James Harrigan Sr. (2016); his grandparents, Gus and Bridie Harrigan, and Art and Jesse Barter; as well as many relatives and friends.

Leaving to mourn are his only son, Jesse (and his mother, Vickie); his cherished mother, Fran; and his beloved sisters: Dallas (Dave), Judy (his wombmate), Linda (Jeff), Bonnie (Charlie), and his chosen sister, Sherri (Marc). He also leaves behind his partner, Tracey (and her children), and his lifelong childhood friend, Kenny.

Jimmy treasured his nieces and nephews: Quade, Caelan, Colin, Sarah, Quinton, Erica, Savannah and Blake,  as well as his godson, Jamie, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Jimmy always considered himself a GYPSY and spent his life living up to that title. One day he could be climbing a mountain in BC, and the next he would be kayaking along the shores of Newfoundland. His greatest joys in life were rock climbing, travelling, meeting new people, and chasing the next great adventure. He lived with a free spirit, an open heart, and a kindness that drew people to him wherever he went. His laughter, stories, and compassionate nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

As a pastime, Jimmy loved the challenge of solving Rubik’s Cubes — no matter the size or shape — while enjoying a bologna sandwich or toast with Cheez Whiz.

Though his journey here has ended, Jimmy’s spirit will forever live on in the mountains he climbed, the trails he explored, the waves of the ocean, and in the hearts of all who loved him.

As per Jimmy’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or formal funeral service.

Fly free, Brother.
