August 11, 1941 ~ June 13, 2021 (age 79) 79 Years Old
John Carey Obituary
Passed peacefully away at his home on June 13,2021.
Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret Carey, his sister Agnes (Chris) Scopis, sister-in-law Ruby Carey and brother-in-law Jack Finn. His parents in law Frank and Bridget Bishop as well as brothers and sisters in law from the Bishop family and his grandson Rodney.
Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 57 years Gertrude, his children Linda (Johnny) Williams, Mike (Christina), Sharon (Pete) Kane, Wayne (Nicky) and Jacqueline (Ian) Power.
His grandchildren Dale (Angela), Melissa (Martin), Lee (Tara), Justin, Raymond, Charlie, Lenny, Chelsea (Kyle), Kayla (Brady), Brittany (John), Jarrett and Michael (Christina). His great-grandchildren Alexis, Austin, Logan, Serenity, Thomas, Charlotte, Zoe, Cheyanne and Alyssa.
His brother Paddy and sister Isabel Finn, brothers and sisters in laws Gerald (Rosie), Geraldine (James), Gen (Pat), Madeline (Bob), Mary, Clara, Lena, Mary (John) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.
Also leaving to mourn special friends Brendan St. Croix and Mrs. Crocker.
Jackie was well known as GM Jack. In the early days Jackie loved hanging out in his garage having a chat with anyone that dropped by. He enjoyed a game of bingo or a game of cards and loved whenever he would win.
Jackie will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Special thank you to Dr. Wade Mercer for his care over the years.
Due to Covid Restrictions masks are mandatory.
Visitation will be held at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay bulls on Monday June 14 from 5-9pm and Tuesday June 15th from 2-9pm. Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Patrick’s RC church, Witless Bay on Wednesday June 16th at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross RC Cemetery, Witless Bay.

Dads hold our hands for a little while and hold our hearts forever.
Grandfather, Great-Grandfather:
We will never forget our grandfather since his place is in our hearts and mind.
