Passed peacefully at his home in St. John’s, NL on April 21, 2020, John Albert Harte, age 79, Predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Veronica (nee Rose), his parents Stephen and Mercedes, his brothers Austin and infant Douglas, and sisters, Mary Agatha and Ann Marie . Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his second wife Noreen Whittle Harte, his children John Jr. (Aileen), Pamela Ward (Denis), and Danny (Kim); his beloved grandchildren Sarah, Danielle, Emma, Kaitlin, Robyn, Michael and Megan; brothers Derm (Mary), Jerome (Nancy) and Ronnie (Trudy); sister Maureen Murphy (Albert); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and a large circle of friends and relatives. John worked for more than two decades as the Superintendent of the Placentia-St. Mary’s Roman Catholic School Board. He will be remembered for his dedication to advancing education in this province. Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, a mass in his memory will be scheduled at a later date.
