In the presence of his loving family with his favourite classic country music playing, John passed peacefully onto his heavenly home.
He is predeceased by his parents Jim & Mary Walsh, brothers Austin, Jimmy, Harold and Patrick; his sisters Theresa (Mother) Doyle, Annie O’Brien, Christine O’Neill and his stepmother Christine.
Leaving to mourn his loss with many wonderful memories his sisters Christine Tobin (Billy), Marguerite Walsh (Joe Yard), his sister-in-laws Jean Walsh and Rose Walsh. Also mourning his loss are his numerous nephews and nieces, great & great-great nephews & nieces and especially his godchild Elizabeth Carew.
He also leaves a multitude of friends especially his extended family at Alderwood Retirement Home.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Alderwood Home staff. You gave John a new lease on life where he got to show his dry humour as shown on the various pictures and videos of his activities.
Thank you to the doctors & nurses of 6 East at St. Clare’s for your special care of John in his last weeks.
John was a Jack of All Trades, always willing to lend a helping hand and always happy to accept a beer when the job was done.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation at Ryans Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 1-5PM.
Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 10AM, from St Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Witless Bay. Attendance will be by invite only due to Covid restrictions.
Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Michael’s RC Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to a charity of choice.
