Justin Edward Carey

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear son, brother, uncle and friend, Justin Carey age 41 of Witless Bay, residing in Saskatoon, SK on Friday January 22, 2021. Predeceased by his grandparents Lawrence and Caroline Carey; Jim and Mary Tobin and many members of the Carey and Tobin families.

Leaving to mourn his parents Aloysius and Carolyn Carey; his sister Lisa (Darrell); brother Curtis (Jackie); his beloved Laura and her children Shane and Gillian, whom he adored; nephew Austin; nieces Angela and Aurora. Uncles: Thomas, Harry (Donna), Alban (Maria), Lawrence (Doreen), Raymond, Larry. Aunts: Isabelle (Lar), Mary (Wilfie), Anne (Ted), Anna. Also a large circle of cousins and very special friend Trent Webber.

Although Justin left home in 2006 to move out west, Newfoundland has always been near and dear to his heart. Growing up Justin loved the outdoors and spent many days in the woods with his Pop and Dad, cutting firewood and having a boil up. He enjoyed being out on the water and in recent trips home was delighted to participate in the recreational food fishery. He lived life to the fullest and had an infectious laugh with a grin from ear to ear. His passion for horses lead him to a career as a farrier. He travelled far and wide across the prairies and meet some wonderful people along the way.

A family and friends visitation, respecting Covid-19 restrictions, to be held at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Monday February 1st, 2021 from 2:00-9:00pm. Mass of Christian burial to take place at St. Patrick’s RC Church, Witless Bay on Tuesday February 2, 2021 at 10:00am. Attendance at church ceremony will be by invitation only.
