It is with very heavy hearts that the family of the late Kevin Joseph Duggan of Brigus South (formerly of Grates Cove), announce his peaceful passing on August 7th, 2024.
Kevin was predeceased by his son, Wade Duggan (Cougar Flight 491), his parents; William and Maude Duggan, mother and father-in-law; George and Angela Gregory, brothers; Peter Duggan and Ben Duggan, sisters; Dot Power and Carol Anne Coish, as well as other members of the Duggan and Gregory families.
Left to mourn with loving memories, his devoted wife of 53 years, Mary Duggan (nee Gregory), son Greg Duggan and daughter-in-law Gertie and his pride and joy, granddaughter Grace, siblings: Jack Duggan (Bernadette), Hilda Duggan (Tom), Bernice Benger (Paul), Alice Bowles (Harry) and Joan Power, as well as a large circle of extended family and many friends.
Throughout Kevin’s life, he had a great passion for hockey, whether it was playing, coaching or watching his favorite team Toronto Maple Leafs. He truly enjoyed his 31 years of service at Labatt Breweries, where he made many lifelong friendships along the way. Since his retirement, Kevin could be found spending time at his second home in Grates Cove. Although many things brought joy to his life, his greatest love of all was his family, who he cherished and adored.
A special thank you to Dr. Wade Mercer, community health nurse Michelle Rossiter, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Miller Centre and special friends Carol and Bill for being there for Dad and for the many meals they delivered during his hospital stay, especially the cod tongues that he thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you to all our family members and friends who have supported us during this difficult time.
At Kevin’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be visitation on Thursday, September 12th from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. A graveside service will be held at Our Lady of the Cape RC Cemetery, Cape Broyle on Friday, September 13th, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
