It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Joseph Puddister, aged 84 years. Lawrence passed peacefully away on October 24, 2022, surrounded by loving family.
Predeceased by his father (Lawrence), mother (Mary), stepmother (Irene), sisters (Anne, Ruth and Madonna), and grandson (Jacob). Also predeceased by members of the Carey family (Lawrence, Caroline, Bridget, Ronnie, Denise, Rosalind, Aaron, Justin and Alban).
Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife of 57 years, Isabelle, children Larry (Sarah), David (Rosalie), Carolyn (Rob), Deidre (Shawn), grandchildren Kelsey (Julia, and mom Marlie), Tyler, Bella, Devin, Abby, Alexa Kay, Charleigh and Abel. Also leaving behind his sister, Mary (Glen), brothers-in-law Tom, Harry (Donna), Lawrence (Doreen), Aloysius (Carolyn), Raymond, sisters-in-law Anne (Ted) and Mary (Wilfred), and a large circle of friends and family. Lar will be dearly missed by long-time family friends, Kevin and Molly Carew, and Alison Melvin.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr Roger Butler, Nurse practitioner Jennifer Williams, Dr Rod McCarthy, occupational therapist Carolyn Chung, Nurse Elizabeth Power (Community Health Care), and Loralee Wettlaufer and Mike Powell (Bishops Gardens Senior Living). We are also grateful for the care given to dad by homecare workers Shelley Sinnott, Deannea Smith and Martina Dinn, as well as the many blessings he received from Monsignor Francis Puddister and Monsignor Pat Kennedy.
Lar was a hard-working man, who loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart. He will be fondly remembered for his community service with the Knights of Columbus, his kind, compassionate heart, his strong will, and his devotion to family, friends, and the Church.
Visitation will take place at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Wednesday October 26th, from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls, on Thursday October 27th at 11 am. Cremation to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Lar’s memory may be made to the Jacob Puddister Memorial Foundation (envelopes will be available at the funeral home).
Dad, we will miss you forever, but we know you are at peace now with Jake.
