It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Gerard Lundrigan on February 17th, 2025. Larry died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Bridget and Woodley Lundrigan; his siblings, Paddy (Regina), James, Wally, Joe, Vince, Kathleen, Michael, and Morgan; his loving wife and mother of his children, Rhoda Lundrigan (nee Sesk); and their three beloved sons, Adam, Stephen, and Michael Lundrigan; his second beloved wife, Janet Lundrigan (nee Power), and his close friend Audrey O’Rielly; as well as members of the Lundrigan, Sesk, and Power families.
Larry was family and friend to a large circle. He will be especially missed by his son, Christopher Lundrigan (Tawnya L’Heureux); his step-children; Allan Carey (Sherry) and Jennifer Aspell (Mark), grandchildren: Heidi and Zachary Aspell, Faith Hanlon-Carey and Cruze Rhoades, nephew, Stephen Lundrigan (Kelly) and niece Ashley Lundrigan, with whom he was especially close; his close friend John O’Rielly; and “his girls” Jane Walsh (James) and Erin O’Rielly. Larry also leaves to mourn his sisters: Margie Keating (Alex), Beatie Dowden (Bob) and Annie Lundrigan, as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews and members of the Lundrigan, Sesk and Power families.
Larry also had a long and dedicated career with Newfoundland Power, which he enjoyed fully until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, and spent countless hours into “IT”, his cabin he shared with John and their families. Anyone who knew Larry knew that the cabin was his happiest place. Many share happy memories of Larry on the side of a pond, be it trouting season or ice fishing. Larry loved his family and spending time with those who mattered most to him. We will all miss his characteristic “loves ya” at the end of a phone call but are consoled as we know he was greeted and embraced in Heaven by many he had missed very dearly.
At Larry’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Thursday, February 20th from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls on Friday, February 21st, 2025 at 11:00 am with inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Witless Bay.
For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be livestreamed with the link available below.
