Leo Puddester Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on May 2, 2019 surrounded by his loving family, Leo Michael Puddester, 73, of Bay Bulls.

Predeceased by his parents Leo Sr. and Hilda Puddister, sisters Joan Yard, Geraldine Kavanagh and Judy Goodyear and brothers Douglas, Robert and Gordon Puddister. Awaiting his arrival in heaven, his precious granddaughter Ariel Rose Langdon.

Leaving behind to celebrate a life well-lived his loving wife of 47 years, Bernadette, who was his steadfast companion raising a family and spending time in their Florida home. Leo was a fiercely proud father to his 2 daughters Krista and Leah and welcomed with open arms his sons-in-law Kris Langdon and Blair Paul. In recent years, great joy was brought to his life by his grandchildren Lucy, Nora and Keir Langdon and Aoife and Bodhi Paul.

Family was everything to Leo and he will be also missed by his sisters-in-law Mary Carey and Donna O’Brien and brothers-in-law Adrian Kavanagh, Joseph Budden and Cyril Yard as well as cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leo was a dear friend to many – union brothers and sisters in solidarity, his hockey buddies of the Bay Bulls Bombers, the Avalon Mall Coffee Club and friends in the music industry from Newfoundland to Ireland.

Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation will take place on Sunday May 5th and Monday May 6th, 2019 from 2 pm to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019, at 2pm, at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, St. John’s. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation (www.childrenswish.ca) and the Lung Association (www.lung.ca).

“May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.” (Traditional Irish blessing).
