Lidwina O'Brien Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Lidwina Anne O’Brien of Admiral’s Cove on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 78 years of age. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend.

Lidwina showed tremendous courage through a sudden illness, displaying determination with grace and dignity, driven by her love for her family. She was predeceased by her parents; Fred and Mary Harvey, aunt, Mary Harvey (Nan), sister Selena Delahunty, brother Fred Harvey, brothers-in-law Eugene O’Brien and Richard Delahunty and her furry companion, Max.

Mourning her loss and treasuring her memory are her loving and devoted daughter Sheila (Clyde), granddaughters; Rebecca Tobin (Cameron) and Marissa Wilson (John Brady), two great grandchildren; Nora and Jack, who brought her such love and happiness.

Also left with endless loving memories are her sister and best friend Regina O’Brien and her brother Ronnie Harvey (Sheilagh). They will forever cherish the many years of laughter, music, good times and Harvey family traditions.

Lidwina had a boundless love for all of her nieces and nephews. She always ensured that each of them knew they were loved and held a special place in her heart. They were a constant support during her illness, especially her niece Laura Miles who travelled to be by her side every step of the way.

Lidwina was a loyal and devoted friend to many including those of whom she worked with at the Janeway Eastern Health for 37 years. She will be forever remembered for her sense of humour, quick wit, accordion playing, kindness and generosity.

A huge thank you to the wonderful Doctors and Nurses at the Kidney Care Center, Mount Pearl Square who so lovingly cared for Lidwina over the last 6 years. Also the dialysis unit at St. Clare’s, the pastoral care team for their daily visits and the Doctors and Nurses of CCU and 5 South A of the Health Sciences Center who went above and beyond. Thank you to all the friends and family who supported us during Lidwina’s illness. Your kindness and support meant more than you will ever know.
