We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Frances “Mudder” on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at her residence, Alderwood Estates with her daughters; Anita and Pat at her bedside caring for her.
She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband Stan in 1989. Also, her parents; Andrew & Fanny Hannaford, siblings: John, Eddie, Alice and Marian.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her: son Wayne, daughters; Anita (Greg) and Pat (Brendan), grandchildren: Coley, Ryan (Ivona) and Connor. Also, her furry friend, Jake. Sisters: Nonie, Kay and Angela, sister-in-law Valeria, very special friends and neighbors: Connie, Janet, Carolyn, Donald & Mary and Jimmy & Mary. The staff and special friends at Alderwood Estates, as well as a circle of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to the owner and entire staff of Alderwood Estates for this past 7.5 years and in her final days. Special thanks to Dr. Tarrant, Dr A.Tzneon, Dr. Mercer and Dr Rogers for their excellent care over the years and to the Palliative Care Team who helped make Frances last week as comfortable as possible for her.
Frances was well known in her community for her years of voluntary service with the Church and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, for her famous Garder Party Turkey Teas and hosting numerous wedding receptions.
Frances gave freely to many people without taking any recognition for it. Most of all “Mudder” loved when someone dropped in for a chat but she always insisted they could not leave until they had a little lunch!
Resting at Ryans Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St, Kevin’s Roman Catholic Church, Goulds (at Frances previous request) on Thursday, June 18,2026 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Loretta Cemetery, Bay Bulls.
