Madonna Hawkins Obituary

Madonna Ann Hawkins, of Bay Bulls, passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on September 19, 2022 at the age of 73.

She was predeceased by her infant sons Lawrence and Keith; parents Lawrence and Mary Williams; brothers Cleary and Albi; brother-in-law Phil Chafe, and father-in-law Ambrose Hawkins.

Leaving to mourn are her husband of 47 years Vince Hawkins; daughter Laureen Harnum (Robert); and granddaughters Abby and Avery. Also grieving her loss are her sisters; Mercedes Chafe and Ann Marie Deagen (Donald); her brother Pius Cole (Blanche); mother-in-law Theresa Hawkins; sisters-in-law Marge White (Ken) and Doris Whale (Harry); brothers-in-law Pius Hawkins (Tryphenia) and Aloysius Hawkins (Anne); along with many nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Madonna was very active in the community of Bay Bulls. She loved a good tune and was often the first one on the dance floor at a wedding or event. She loved to "carry on" with her friends and always appreciated a good laugh. Her laughter was infectious to those around her. She also loved children and would light up with excitement when they were around her.

A special thanks is extended to the staff of Chancellor Park for their kindness and compassion over the last two years. Her family always took great comfort in the care and tenderness that she received at this wonderful facility.

Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, on Tuesday September 27, from 3 - 9 pm. There will be no church or cemetery service.

In lieu of flowers, we are gratefully accepting donations in Madonna's memory to the breakfast program at St. Bernard's Elementary School in Witless Bay.

"Madonna was a kind hearted person throughout her life.

You never know what someone is going through. A few nice words can help a person a lot more than you think."
