Passed peacefully on June 24th, 2020 at Bay Bulls, NL. Age 96 years.
Predeceased by her husband John Dermott, parents William Hartery and Catherine (nee O'Brien) of Cape Broyle, siblings Annie Hayes (James), Kathleen Murphy (Gerald), Agnes Glynn (Raymond), sister Mary Columba, Georgina, John, Francis (Marie), daughter Marion Anderson and grandchild John D. Crockwell.
Leaving to mourn, sons William (Wanda), Leo, Francis (Pierrete) and daughter Catherine, grandchildren Jonathan Anderson (Tammy), Gillian Anderson, Shawn Crockwell, great-grandchildren Matthew and Kate Anderson, other relatives and friends.
Margaret was a very loving and pleasant person with an unshakable Christian faith. It was somehow fitting that she passed on the feast day of St. John the Baptist. She had a quiet inner strength of moral fortitude and decency, a virtuous quality that always commanded tacit respect. She was a good wife to her husband, a great mother to her children and was quite contented to enjoy the natural beauty of the world. She thanked God every day. We were quite blessed to have a mother for such a long time.
Her spiritual journey has now commenced and death is swallowed up in victory. A life of love and the love of our lives. Remember that the heart that loves is always young. Amen.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation on Friday, July 10th, 2020 from 11:00am to 12:00 pm at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Friday, July 10th at 1:00pm from Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Bay Bulls. Inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Loretta RC Cemtery, Bay Bulls.
