Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home in Bay Bulls on Tuesday, September 16th from 2 - 9 PM, and on Wednesday, September 17th from 2- 9 PM. Funeral mass will take place at The Immaculate Conception RC Church in Cape Broyle on Thursday September 18th at 11:00 AM with internment to follow at Our Lady of The Cape RC Cemetery in Cape Broyle.
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on Sunday, September 14th, 2014, at the Health Science Centre, Marie Hartery, age 83 years. Formally of La Manche, Marie was a teacher at St. Joseph's School in Ferryland, before her retirement. Predeceased by her loving husband Francis (1997): parents Michael and Frances (Fanny) Melvin: brothers Phonse and Louis Melvin, and nephew Mario Melvin. Leaving to mourn her daughters Frances Stanford (Dave), Annemarie Hartery, Catherine Whiffen (Patrick) and Rose Brophy (Allister): grandchildren, David Stanford, Tracy Prosper (Mike), Michaela Brophy, Nicholas Whiffen and Noel Whiffen: great grandchildren Mia, Niko, Liam, Jaiden and Ryder: Sisters Rose Farrell (Jim), Marg DeCoste, and brother Martin Melvin (Allison): Sisters in Law Marg Crockwell, Agnes Melvin and Sr. Mary Columba Hartery. Also leaving behind a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
