Mary O'Driscoll Obituary

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Mary O'Driscoll (née Frizzell) of Tors Cove, announce the peaceful passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother.  Mary passed away at Health Sciences Center on Saturday, October 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary is reunited with her angel daughter Cathy; parents Francis & Alice Frizzell; parents-in-law John Joe & Kathleen O'Driscoll; brothers Alfred Frizzell (Valerie), Phonse Frizzell (Juanita) and Jim Frizzell; sister-in-law Mary Rench; brothers-in-law Edmond O'Driscoll (Rita) and Dermot O'Driscoll and nephew Rodney O'Driscoll.

Leaving to mourn with the most fond and loving memories is her devoted husband of 58 years, Willie; her two adored sons Francis (Wanda Lee) and Brian (Wanda) and her three cherished grandchildren Nathan (Julia), Natalie and Brooke (Riley).   Also mourning her passing is her dear brother and sister-in-law Tom and Brenda Frizzell; loving sister Elizabeth Trapani; sisters-in-law Emily Frizzell and Clara O'Driscoll; special niece Tammy Brenton, her husband Ed and their son Kyle, who held a very special place in her heart.  Mary will also be dearly missed by a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Mary was known by all for the unwavering love for her family and her fierce strength and determination. She suffered much sickness over the past 37 years and an immense sadness after the passing of their beautiful daughter Cathy in 1996.  Guided by the deep love of her family, especially her husband and sidekick Willie, she persevered and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Her three grandchildren meant the absolute world to her. Her determination to share many special times with them and watch them grow was a driving force in her weathering the many storms she faced.

Mary was a fabulous baker and knitter who enjoyed berry picking, a good game of cards, darts or BINGO for as long as her health allowed her to partake.  She dearly loved a get together for a meal and chat with her friends and family.  She was called upon numerous times over the years to say a prayer for family, friends and strangers alike, which she did without question and with much love and thoughtfulness.

The family would like to sincerely thank Mary's family physician, Dr. Wade Mercer, for his many years of care and the staff at The Agnes Pratt Home where she resided the past five months.  Many thanks as well to the staff at Health Sciences Center who made her final days very comfortable for her and the family.

Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  Mass of Christian burial will take place at a future date.
