Mary Elizabeth Maloney

It is with great love and heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Elizabeth Maloney at the Palliative Care Unit, Leonard Miller Center on August 21, 2025 at the age of 75 years following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Bay Bulls, Mary Elizabeth was the cherished only living child of Catherine (Katie) nee Power of Brigus South and Lewis Maloney of Bay Bulls, to whom she devoted her life on until their passing.

She had a dedicated career with the Provincial Government and worked in various departments from the age of 17 until her retirement.

Mary Elizabeth had a tremendous love for writing as well as a talent for shopping and a "gift of gab" that will forever remain unmatched.

Leaving to mourn with beautiful stories and loving memories are the members of the Power and Maloney/Mullowney families and her circle of friends especially those at Tiffany Lane.

Special thank you to Bishop Gardens Senior Living staff and residents as well as the staff at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital for the kindness and care shown to Mary Elizabeth in her brief stay with them.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the Palliative Care Unit staff at the Leonard Miller Center for the attentiveness, understanding and compassionate care they provided during Mary Elizabeth’s final days and moments.

Cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service will be held at Our Lady of Mount Loretta Cemetery, Bay Bulls on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 2:30 pm.

If friends so desire, donations in Mary Elizabeth's memory may be made to Ronald McDonald House or The Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
