Mick was truly one of a kind—a woman whose zest for life, infectious laughter and magnetic presence lit up every room she entered. She embraced joy with open arms and brought warmth and humour to all who knew her.
Her time as a Student Assistant was especially meaningful. Mick greeted every student with compassion and kindness and had a remarkable ability to reach even the most guarded hearts. Her belief in their worth left a lasting impact, and they adored her in return.
A passionate treasure hunter, Mick found delight in flea markets and storytelling. She had a gift for turning the ordinary into something unforgettable, always chasing the thrill of discovering that one hidden gem. Her quick wit and charm—especially her signature sales line, “that’s brand new, never used”—became legendary among friends and customers alike.
Mick made friends wherever she went. Her generous heart and unwavering support for those in need reflected her deep empathy and strength. Fierce and resilient, she never backed down from a challenge—even in her final moments.
Raised in Shea Heights, Mick carried the spirit of her community wherever she went. Her nieces and nephews each held a unique place in her heart. In later years, she and Ted settled in Mobile, where they built a life full of adventure, laughter, and entrepreneurship. Mick’s flea market became a beloved landmark on the Southern Shore.
She leaves behind a wide circle of friends from her time at the Sapphire and the Jigger, including dear friends Max and Allan Gillard and her cherished online poker companions—because while there may be no friends at the poker table, they were all friends in her heart.
She will be remembered not only for her beauty and unique charm, but for the joy she brought to others, the stories she shared, and the love she gave so freely.
