Philip Hawkins Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, in his 78th year, Philip Gerard Hawkins of Brigus South. He is predeceased by his son, Dion (August 5th, 2023), his parents; Joseph and Mary Margaret Hawkins, brothers; Edward and Clarence (Patsy, deceased), sister Patricia Mullowney (Clem, deceased), parents-in-law; John and Nettie Finlay, brothers-in-law: Gerard, James and Harold Finlay (Sharon) and sister-in-law, Bernice O’Neill (William, deceased).
Left to mourn with a lifetime of memories, his wife and best friend of over 54 years, Josephine (nee Finlay), his daughter and forever his little girl, Tracy (Vic), his precious grandchildren: Katie and Kaleb Hawkins and Brooklyn Smith, who brought so much joy and happiness to his life, his special daughter-in-law Audrey (Kenny), his sister Lavena Daley (Pete, deceased) and her family, sisters-in-law; Genevieve Williams (Ron) and Irene Finlay. His special friends: Bernard & Diane Hawkins, David & Mamie Sullivan and Teddy & Joan Doyle. Also, his favorite godchild, Gayle Sullivan, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
Many thanks to his family physician, Dr, Rod McCarthy and staff of Bay Bulls Family Practice, who went above and beyond over the years. To all the staff at 4 North East, Pleasant View Towers for your compassionate care over the past 18 months, and his crib buddies: Terry, Ray, and Chantelle, who enjoyed many laughs together.
Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 7th at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Cape Broyle with interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape Cemetery.
