It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philomena Mary Chancey (nee Carter) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.
She passed away in the presence of her loving family at St. Clare''s Mercy Hospital, age 84 years. Predeceased by her husband Reginald L. Chancey; son Gerard; parents Stephen and Ethel Carter; Genevieve Penton (Clarence); Loretta White (Leonard); brothers-in-law Harold Ronayne and Peter Norris; mother-in-law Mary Ann Chancey. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her children Christopher (Alice), Philip (Nancy), Jeff (Sue), Dawn (Ron) and Rhonda (Allan); grandchildren Scott, Ginette, Colin, Christian, Shelby, Ronny, Joey, Kurtis, Chelsie; great grandchildren Emilie and Noemie; sisters Catherine Ronayne, Gabrielle Norris, brother Stephen Carter (Ita); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins , friends. Special thanks to her extended family at Alderwood Estates for giving her so much enjoyment and providing such wonderful care . Thank you to her many friends as Thomas Estates on Brookfield Road. Also, a special thank you to the staff of St. Clare''s Mercy Hospital, especially ICU and 7 East. Resting at Ryan''s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Saturday, June 17th and Sunday, June 18th from 2 p.m. -5 p.m and 7 p.m - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to take place on Monday, June 19, 2017 from St. Patrick''s R. C. Church, Witless Bay at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Flowers gratefully accepted.
