Ralph Dowson

Passed peacefully away on February 26, 2024, Ralph Dowson. Ralph was born on May 19, 1943 in Fusilier, Saskatchewan on the family farm.

Predeceased by his parents: Henry (Harry) and Mabel Dowson (Steele), his brothers: Robert (Bob), Kenneth (Ken), Joseph (Sonny), Ronald (Ron/Ronnie) and Roy, his sisters: Margaret and Olive (Ollie).

Ralph leaves to mourn his beloved common-law wife, Cheryll Dixon, daughters: Janice and Diana Dowson, his adopted Newfoundland family, the Stones', James (Jimmy) and Mary Stone, Carolyn Rice (Colin Rice), Roseanne Halleran (Sean Halleran), Andrew Stone (Dana Sinnott), along with many dear friends across Canada.

Ralph was a true lover of life, he loved sports, photography and hot air ballooning, most of all. He was dedicated to hot air ballooning, a long-time member of the Calgary Balloon Club and served in different roles on the Club’s Board and proudly designed their annual ballooning pin for a number of years.

Memorial Donations can be made to either the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Calgary Balloon Club.
