It is with heavy hearts and much sadness, but a lifetime of wonderful memories , that the family of Rose Mary Slaney (nee Colbert) of Bauline East announces her peaceful passing on February 22 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home at the wonderful age of 101.
Rose was a gentle fun-loving, pleasant lady who loved God, had a very deep faith, and was loved by everyone who knew her. Gardening, family and family gatherings meant the world to her.
Predeceased by her husband, Henry (Harry), her daughter, Marion, sisters Marie Melvin and Marg Melvin, and brothers France, Matt and John Colbert.
Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted daughter, Sharon (Bob) and her beloved grandson, Robin. Also leaving to mourn her many nieces and nephews, especially her loving nieces Judy Melvin, Sandra Walsh, and Phyllis Chidley who were her constant visitors at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, and brought her much joy and laughter. Also mourning are her special friends Kay Frizzell, Alison Melvin, and Junior Tobin who were there for her always when she was living in her own home.
A VERY special Thank You goes out to the staff at St. Patrick’s for their care and compassion, especially during her short Comfort Care week.
Sharon would also like to issue a very special thank you to her amazing cousins who supported her through this difficult time, and everyone who visited, called, and showed support in any way.
Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Monday, February 27th from Noon to 8PM.
Mass of Christian Burial to take place at her beloved St. Michaels’s RC Church, St. Michael's on Tuesday February 28th, at 10 AM with interment to follow at St. Michael’s RC Cemetery, St. Michael's.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to St. Michael’s Cemetery Committee.
