It’s with immense sadness that the family announce the peaceful passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Sheila passed peacefully away at home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 72.
She was predeceased by her mother Angela Mulrooney, father-in-law Aiden Carey, mother-in-law Esther Carey, brothers- in-law: William Tobin, Gerry Colbert and Gerard White, sisters- in-law: Rose Tobin, Margie Colbert, Madonna Doyle and Joan White.
Leaving to mourn her husband of 53 years, Aiden Carey, sons; Danny (Tracey & her daughter Shayla) and Donny (Ashley), Daughters; Debbie (Dan) and Trudy (Justin), cherished grandchildren: Marissa, Danual, Aiden, Carter, Ty, Grace, James, Mya and Ryder. Also leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her brother Mike and sister Catherine (Randy), sister in-law Sheila Williams (Wayne) and brother in-law Patrick Doyle, along with a large circle of family and friends, especially her dear friend Fran Harrigan.
Mom was an inspiration to us all in how she lived her life. We will always remember her for her unwavering strength, quick wit that kept us laughing, her determination, perseverance, steadfast devotion to family, love of music and dancing, her kindness and generosity towards so many and her deep love of witless bay.
Mom will be missed by her work friends at the local fish plant and by anyone who was lucky enough to know her. She dearly loved on her rock at pond the look out on May 24 weekend, showing dad how to catch trout.
“Mom, we loved you your whole life and will miss you the rest of ours.”
The family would also like to thank the Dr.’s and staff of the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, Dr. Siddiqui, special receptionist Pamela Soper, Dr. Mercer and Eastern Health Nurses; Nicole and Audrey for their care and compassion.
Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm with cremation to follow.
If friends so desire, donations in Sheila's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
